There was a time, not that long ago, when the PC was the ultimate game machine. While products like Xbox 360 and PS3 have stripped it of the title, some believe the Windows could make a comeback for games. source

At long last, Android is finally here, and with a bunch of applications unique to the OS. While we expect many to come in the near future, here’s a look at some of the latest releases for Google’s Android cell OS.

Cab4me
This app will take your current location and feed it into a database of nation-wide cab companies, allowing you to order a cab pickup instantly with your current locations. Genius!

Androidscan
This will scan the barcodes on any book or CD when you’re at a store and your phone can pull up Amazon reviews and check local library listings to see if the book is in stock.

BreadCrumbz
Even if the iPhone has Google maps, we like this one better. It has picture based routes so you know to turn at easily identified landmarks. Your friends can make routes for you and record them with the camera and GPS.

Life360
This one keeps you informed. This is a personalized alert system that displays only the messages you need to hear.

Biowallet
How about an app that scans your eyeball and saves your passwords? Save anything senstitive like passwords, certificates, documents, pictures, etc.

It’s probably not too early to start Christmas shopping, and this might make for a great corporate or executive gift. The cubes contain 3 highlighters and one USB drive, with memory capacities from 128MB, 256MB, 512MB, 1GB, or 2GB.

Our cell phones are a huge part of everyone’s lives. Besides being a phone, they’re also MP3 players, portable computers, with calendars and appointments, games, video, and more. Just when you think they’ve crammed everything in there… think again!

Now there is talk of including projectors in cell phones. It’s anyone’s guess when, but some are saying as early as Spring. While they might only be able to create cell phones with projectors that provide a 7 inch color image in the beginning, it’s our guess that by the end of next year it might be possible to project close to a 40 inch screen. We’ll see how the technology and popularity develop. Does this mean even more unwanted advertising? Although it won’t replace text messages, it will be interesting to see how it’s used.

After a long wait, it’s almost here. Google’s Open Mobile OS, named Andriod. Even though it won’t (technically) be called gPhone, we still think of it as one. It’s an HTC Dream, and Sprint is expected to debut 23rd of September.
