Looks like video games aren’t just for the boys anymore. Over the last few years there has been a rise in active girl gamers. According to research firm IBISWorld, 38 percent of U.S. gamers are female, up from 33 percent in just five years ago!
You probably heard them online, and mistook them for boys that haven’t had their voice change yet. There are in fact lots of gamer girls out there, and they aim to kick your butt.
This has been a thrill for game makers, who have turned up the dial on less violent titles which a more appealing to the majority of female gamers. Whoever said Girls don’t Game might have to eat those words.
The increase in sites devoted to girl gamers says it all, with webs sites like Girls n Gaming, Game Girl, Gaming Girls Unite and Hot Gamer Girls popping up everyday. And the ladies even have their own Geekware for Lady Gamers Guide, setting the standard among gamer girls.
Although there are a lot of girl gamers out there that will deliver pwnage all day, we couldn’t not post this pic we found of a few young ladies that have a thing or two to learn about gaming…
