So beware of cheap laptop skins or you might just end up regretting it. I know that I had seen some cheap laptop skins about a year ago and they weren’t good at all. The ink way fading in only a month and it was peeling due to lower quality vinyl being used. If you still want cheap laptop skins you should now know that they won’t look as good or last as long as quality laptop skins.

The equipment for making laptop skins requires much more than just a bubble jet printer. A specialized printer is required to print on vinyl sheets with an adhesive backing. Laptop skins and notebook skins are like large stickers, and require special printers that can handle the large vinyl sheets (up to 4 feet wide) and also the special inks for printing on vinyl.

Creating band laptop skins doesn’t have to be hard. All you need is an image or design of your favorite band that is at least 500KB or larger in filesize. For a laptop skin, something closer to 1 MB+ in filesize will provide higher resolution.

You can find images suitable as band skins for laptops on desktop wallpaper websites, flickr, and also try Google and Google Images (which you can choose large/extra large for search results).
